Moving Home During Covid-19

How can we work together to protect our people, our clients and the NHS?

If you have or are considering booking us for June onwards, then we are sure you will understand that removals will have changed significantly since the #Covid19 outbreak and our procedures to meet government guidelines will be very stringent for the protection of our teams and you alike.

We are NOW OPEN! Challenging Times for Moving Home

We are living in unprecedented times and are trying and continue to monitor and adapt our working process in line with government guidelines.

As you are aware, the Government are continually reviewing their stance on the situation surrounding Coronavirus in order to manage and control the spread of the virus. Instructions from them may restrict our ability to deliver a service to you. Should such measures be implemented, this will restrict our ability to meet our quotation and or supply services as originally detailed. We may legally, be obliged to delay, suspend, or indeed cancel our services. In such situation, we and our insurers will not be able to accept any liability for loses that may arise as a result. We therefore limit our liability accordingly.

We also have a duty of care to our crews and we therefore ask you to abide with the following protocol as we conduct your removal over the coming weeks

  • Take control of who you have in your home new and old!

Speak with the sellers of your new home,  have they arranged a move yet?  we can reduce the number of people in and out of the property,  we carried out both moves the same crew could easily accomodate both moves, reducing the risk of contamination.   ask us how this would work.

  • It is essential that you inform us if anyone within your household is suffering with any Coronavirus symptoms.

    Coronavirus symptoms

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are a new continuous cough and/or a fever/high temperature (37.8C or greater).

A new continuous cough is where you:

have a new cough that’s lasted for an hour

have had 3 or more episodes of coughing in 24 hours are coughing more than usual

  • Preparing your old/new home for arrival of crew

Weather permitting,  turn off the heating (Reduce sweating),  open all windows to allow airflow,  prop open all doores and access to property.

All the high touched areas in your home MUST be cleaned and disinfected to a satisfactory level prior to your removal team’s arrival.

Using a disposable cloth, first clean hard surfaces with warm soapy water. Then disinfect these surfaces with the cleaning products you normally use. Pay particular attention to frequently touched areas and surfaces, such as bathrooms, grab-rails in corridors and stairwells and door handles

Please do not be offended if our staff reclean these areas and do other areas of your house they feel the need to.

    More Information here.

  • Please have running water and a sink available for our staff to wash theirs hands as they will be doing this regularly.

Our crew will wash hands regularly with soap and water for 20 seconds, and after removing gloves, aprons and other protection used throughout your move

  • You must provide sufficient amounts of soap, water, towels and / or hand sanitizer

that is constantly and readily available throughout the operation.

For use by you and our crew if required,  We will provide our teams with suitable sanatozers, masks and gloves if deemed appropriate.

  • There is to be only ONE single person at the original property and new property.

This must be the same person at both properties and we would expect them to adhere to the social distancing guidelines, maintaining a two meter distance from staff members at all times and in addition to be wearing suitable PPE (masks and gloves at the very least). We advise that where possible they stay in one room or remain outside, maybe in their car, whilst the team complete the relocation of items.

There must be no pets, children or vulnerable adults in the property at any time whilst any of our staff are present.

  • If you knowingly come into contact with anyone displaying the symptoms of Covid 19

or if you are displaying the symptoms yourself, we cannot attend your move and our terms and conditions will be adhered to

If, after we have completed your move you or anyone in your household starts displaying symptoms of Covid 19 – please notify us immediately.

  • At new property, all surfaces should be cleaned prior to crew arrival,

Rooms must be labelled and a floorplan given to our foreman to reduce customer contact.

All doors and access should be secured open, removing the need to touch doors and surfaces.

  • Once the removals service is completed, please clean all surfaces
